What is split action in qtp?

Split Actions in QTP

In QTP we record it as a whole and then we split.-That is Split Action.
There are two kinds of “Splits”.
1) Independent to each other.
2) Nested Splits.
After we record, run and design we go to “Keyboard view “and click on the place to highlight. Go to “Step” and click on “Split action” to split. Once we split we cannot undo it. We must save the action before we split it. Saving is a pre-requisite to split.

There can be “Multiple split actions” and they will be independent of each other.
E.g. Yahoo > Autos > New Cars > Sedans > BMW > etc.
E.g. CNN > World > Law > Health > Education > Politics > etc.

Nested Split

While clicking on to sights like World, Law, and Health we can have a bunch of clicks in “Law” like Civil law, Criminal law, Child law, Immigration law and we can put all those under “Law” and that is a nest and that split is called a “Nested split”.
