Responsibility of a Business Analyst

The Business Analyst fills the gaps between business and technology, meaning that this person has to translate the commercial language to something that developers could understand, and vice versa, to present to the business department what advantages the IT industry can bring to maximize the profits. The stages or secondary roles of this main purpose can be split like this…

Study and collect the client’s business requirements

First of all the analyst must meet the partners or managers of the client company  and discuss about the business, then study all available data about it including documents, records, tutorials, schematics and any relevant stuff. This is an important step because knowing the business is vital to its success.

                                                                     Redesign the business

After gathering all the necessary data the Business Analyst must prepare new graphs and business models, make learning sessions with the employees, all for the purpose of solving the company’s problems. New ideas are used for the long term development of the entire business. The client must remain with a conclusion of what is good and what is wrong in the business.

                                                                  Participate in the testing

The analyst must be fully involved in any launch of the innovations suggested, this means testing the ground and verifying if the new procedures work as expected in theory.

                                                                      Make a final report

In the end, a report must be made about how all things worked and if everything is as it should be according to the designs. This should tell us what has been improved in the system and what benefits has this for the firm.

As a conclusion, to define the roles of a Business Analyst in a company in one single role we could say that he is like an interface between the financial management and the technical part, providing the best connections and helping businesses to prosper in long term. The analyst job covers many domains, each one different but they all serve one purpose: wealth.
