Business Analyst explained:
Business Analyst plays an important role in any organization or to say in
any business. So, in a nut shell a business analyst devotes his time on
analyzing the current business / organization. But a business analyst roles
is not only limited to just analyzing, but he also need to work on different
business models and works on how they talk to each other with current
technology.
SO, talking about day-to-day duties of a business analyst we can divide them
into different parts.
We will discuss one by one.
1) Planning:
In this phase a Business Analyst needs to analyze the business needs of the
organization. i.e what exactly needed for the current business to gget into
right track that eventually leads to the financial success of the
organization. SO, this is an on going process even though the business is
established.
2) Analyzing the different Business Models:
Here in this phase a business analyst needs to analyze the business policies
and different business processes which are already in the market.
3) Designing the business process:
Here the actual business process is modeled in a detailed way.
4) IT Business Analysis:
Here it is the business policies, formulas and business requirements are
interpreted and analyzed in detailed way. And the important thing here is
these are analyzed in
technology perspective (Information Technology).

Business Analyst Deliverables:
A typical Business Analyst has to deliver many documents as part of his/her
role. So, here we are gonna discuss few important of them.
1) Business Requirements:
This is the project initiation document in which a Business Analyst must
mention the quality measures and what would be his achievements etc..
These are mainly the business requirements which are explained ina broad
way. The actual functionalities are not explained here.
Functional Requirements:
Here the functional requirements are explained in detailed. i.e what the
business will do? what are the different functionalities of the business?
what we should do to
fulfill the requirements?
User Requirements:
These are very very important requirements because the stake holders
involvement is there in this. Here the actual needs of the users will be
discussed in detail.
Traceability Matrix:
Traceability matrix is nothing but recording of the requirements in each and
every phase. Here individual functionalities will have to match the actual
requirements. This document is very important for both Business Analyst and
developer because it acts as a proof of the original
requirements.
